XDictionary for SOLIDWORKS

XDictionary for SW is a SOLIDWORKS add-in which helps you create multilingual engineering documentations. The designer prepares the models and the correct manufacturing drawings in SOLIDWORKS software, names the parts and adds various textual manufacturing instructions to the document to support the manufacturing process.

If you forward the manufacturing documentation (manufacturing drawings, list of parts) to foreign partners for production, the manufacturing texts need to be translated. The XDictionary for SW add-in helps with the translation.

How does the add-in work?

When installing the add-in, a “company” dictionary database is created with the free Microsoft SQL Express database engine. The Hungarian engineering terms your company uses will be stored in this database. These terms are based on the existing SOLIDWORKS documentation. The add-in translates and manages these technical terms in multiple languages. You can translate the terms manually or you can use Google Translate as well. For the latter, you have to register for Google Translate. One registration is enough for the company. You can enter the registered services’ key into XDictionary for SW add-in’s settings file to be able to use it for the translation.
