The Solid Edge add-in XProject (managing projects) developed by XperiCAD Kft. manages the project folder automatically. Once you set the project name, all the newly created project files will automatically be saved to this project folder by the add-in.

What does it exactly mean?

Corporate governance systems (CRM/ERP) provide highly efficient solutions to manage projects; however, their price prevents many companies from using such a system. Moreover, the integration between corporate governance systems and Solid Edge is not always adequate and is sometimes completely lacking.

In such cases often a designer is trusted to manage the project. The governing designer for want of a better solution creates the necessary files one by one and saves them to the appropriate folders.

This process can easily be automated and thus speeded up! This way the risk of making mistakes is also smaller and you do not have to spend a fortune on introducing a CRM/ERP system either.

Automatic management of project folders with the Solid Edge Project management add-in

The Solid Edge add-in XProject developed by XperiCAD Kft. manages the project folder automatically. Once you set the project name, all the newly created project files will automatically be saved to this project folder by the add-in.

The manufacturing data needs to be entered only once, when starting the project, afterwards the project files will be generated automatically. The program will generate the names and save the files based on the name and drawing number set by the designer.

The manufacturing drawings made of parts inherit the part’s information, such as name, drawing number, other manufacturing characteristics. The designer does not have to change anything manually, thus the risk of making mistakes decreases and more time can be devoted to creative work.

XProjekt and XDynamix365

XProject add-in can be combined with XDynamix365 Solid Edge Interface developed by XPeriCAD Kft.

Dynamics 365 is a corporate governance system which builds in Microsoft’s cloud-based services. The XDynamix365 Solid Edge Interface program helps to create and manage projects and oversee processes from quoting to invoicing, all you need to do is to tailor it to your needs.

XProject and Solid Edge’s built-in PDM system

The above developments can also be used in Solid Edge’s built-in PDM system either in a file system or in Microsoft 365 environment.

XProject and the XDigital Drawing Store

If you have installed XperiCAD’s program for generating PDFs automatically as part of XDigital Drawing Store then the program will automatically generate all the necessary PDF files from the manufacturing drawings and save them to the appropriate project folder at the push of a button.
This way the designer does not need to perform any file action, they can focus solely on the design tasks.
